Meet the CEO Discussion Leaders:
Prashanth "PV" Boccasam is CEO of Orchestro, a serial entrepreneur, and a general partner at NBVP. He has more than 20 years of operational and executive management experience. Boccasam is currently on the Boards of Appfluent Technologies (acquired by Attunity (NASDAQ: ATTU), Appian Corporation, Centrifuge Systems and Copiun (acquired by Good Technology). He was also an investor and co-founder of ClearStandards (acquired by SAP).
Presently, Boccasam is the CEO of Novak Biddle portfolio company Orchestro (formerly Vision Chain) for which he sets the vision, strategy and governance for the evolving company. He is also on the Board of Directors, working with the management team to refocus and restructure the Company and to position it for high-growth. Boccasam was the founder and CEO of Approva Corporation (acquired by Infor-Lawson) and founder and president of Entevo Corporation (acquired by Bindview Corporation). Both of these enterprise software companies were invested in by Novak Biddle and other top-tier venture capitalists and were successfully acquired. Boccasam also is president and a board member of TiE-DC. In addition, Boccasam is the chairperson of Pratham-DC, India's largest non-governmental educational non-profit group. He is an investor and advisor in Communikids, the Washington, D.C., metro area's only premier bilingual pre-school for children.
Boccasam launched his career at Microsoft where he managed enterprise-class products and directed consulting services. PV holds advanced degrees in computer science from the University of Pune in India and the University of Cincinnati. He is a graduate of the executive management program at MIT's Sloan School of Management and is a fellow at the University of Maryland's Smith Business School.
CEO, Regent Education
As Chief Executive Officer, Randy Jones is responsible for leading Regent's growth strategy. He brings a proven track record with two decades of experience in the enterprise application and software business to this role. Randy joined Regent in 2008 as Senior Vice President of Sales, guiding the strategic direction and execution of Regent's sales team across direct and reseller channels. Before joining Regent, Randy spent 2 years as the Executive Vice President of Sales for the Americas at Managed Objects, a Business Service Management company. While there, Randy reconstructed the sales force, and built a team that produced consistent quarter over quarter growth. Additionally, he worked with the Board of Directors and CEO to successfully position the company for the next phase in its lifecycle, successfully selling Managed Objects to Novell in November of 2008.
Prior to Managed Objects, Randy spent 8 years at OPNET Technologies, Inc. (OPNT), an entrepreneurial high tech software and consulting services company. As Senior Vice President of North American Sales, Randy oversaw the rapid scaling of the sales force and attainment of accelerated revenue growth, which averaged better than 20% increase annually, to position the company for its successful IPO. Randy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Dayton.
CEO, Membership & Paid Services Group, AOL
Bud Rosenthal – President of the AOL Membership Group As President of the AOL Membership Group, Bud Rosenthal oversees AOL’s variety of subscription businesses encompassing millions of paid customer relationships, as well as tens of millions of monthly users of AOL properties, including AOL Mail and AIM. Additionally, Bud oversees a variety of core global services for AOL, including AOL’s billing platform, Registration & Authentication platform, and global customer support. Prior to joining AOL, Bud held leadership roles at public tech companies, Yahoo and RealNetworks, and served as a co-founder and/or CEO of several early-stage, venture-backed companies, including TurnHere, Bigstep and WorkMetro, which collectively raised $100M+ of top-tier venture capital backing. He was also fortunate to spend a year as an Entrepreneur-in Residence at Charles River Ventures, a $2B early stage venture firm, and serves on the advisory board of several national non-profits and technology startups. Bud earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in International Relations from Bates College.
Meet the CFO Discussion Leaders:
Wellford Dillard is currently the CFO at VideoBlocks, a stock media company based in Reston, VA that is backed by Updata Partners, QED Investors and North Atlantic Capital. VideoBlocks' annual revenue has more than doubled since Wellford joined in May 2014, and the Company has been named one of the fast growing media companies by Inc Magazine. Prior to joining VideoBlocks, Wellford served as the CFO of GetWellNetwork, a SaaS company in the Healthcare sector originally backed by Johnson & Johnson, Valhalla Partners, Point Judith Capital and Industry Ventures. During his position tenure at GetWellNetwork the Company's annual revenue grew 175%, and in December 2012 GetWellNetwork was acquired by Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, one of the largest healthcare-focused private equity firms.
Prior to GetWellNetwork, Wellford was the CFO at Opower, and during his time at Opower the Company's revenue grew approximately 10x. Wellford has also held CFO positions at Acumen Solutions and TMA Resources, and he previously worked at WWC Capital, Ernst & Young LLP and Friedman Billings & Ramsey. Wellford received his MBA from the University of Maryland and his BA from the University of Memphis. Wellford currently lives in Reston, VA with his wife, Kimberly, and their three children.
Ollen Douglass has been at The Motley Fool Holdings, Inc. since 2001, and has been their Chief Financial Officer since 2004. During that time, he has overseen a wide variety of business units, including accounting, finance, legal, benefits, sales, asset management, business development, international and business intelligence. He has played a key role in over $80 million of restructuring and has raised over $50 million in capital for “the Fool”. His current focus is on financial strategy and major strategic growth initiatives. Ollen also serves as an advisor for the Conscious Venture Labs, and as an advisor for several startup investments made by the company. Prior to joining the Fool, Ollen worked in the finance groups of several mortgage banking companies and was an auditor at KPMG. He received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Baltimore.
Joe Harar has ten years of telecommunications, venture capital and investment banking experience. Before joining the EdgeConneX management team in 2013, Joe was a member of the EdgeConneX Board of Directors. Prior to EdgeConneX, Joe was a Principal at TDF Ventures, where he focused on investments in fixed and wireless communications, software and technology services. Joe also helped run corporate development at BSG, where he was involved in all aspects of global M&A and corporate finance. Previously, Joe served in the investment banking group at Morgan Joseph & Company and as an analyst for the Thurston Group, a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on Internet-based services, technology and telecommunications. Joe graduated from University of Virginia with a BS in Finance and Management.
Chief Financial Officer & Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, REGENXBIO
Vit Vasista is the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at REGENXBIO. Prior to joining REGENXBIO, Mr. Vasista served as Principal at PRTM Management Consultants, where he developed operational strategies for both private and public organizations, including the development of market entry strategies, innovative business models, and operational improvements. Earlier in his career, Mr. Vasista served as Director, Business Development at Meso Scale Diagnostics, a privately held life sciences company. Mr. Vasista received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and an S.B. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

CTO, comScore, Inc.
Michael Brown was a founding member of comScore, Inc. in 1999. He leads the technology efforts of the company to measure Internet and Digital activities. comScore’s environment currently has over one year of data online and captures over 1.5 trillion rows of new data every month to measure the Internet in over 45 countries. He also has been responsible for over twenty patent applications at comScore. Seven of these patents have already been issued by the US Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining comScore in 1999, Mike worked on several different projects for companies in the Washington, DC area. One of these projects included working on a large help desk deployment and modernization effort for Deutsche Bahn in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1993, Mike cofounded Pragmatic Image Technologies with several associates from IBM. This consulting group focused on the implementation of IBM’s ImagePlus technologies at several different firms. One of the core projects completed was the successful role out of IBM’s ImagePlus product at Pennsylvania Blue Shield to over 1,200 users resulting in the largest image workflow installation on the east coast at that time. Mike began his career at IBM in 1989 at the age of 19 in the image processing team in Gaithersburg, MD. He finished his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at night at the University of Maryland University College in 1992 and earned his Master’s degree from Hood College in Computer and Information Science in 1997.
Josh Szmajda brings 26 years of technology and leadership experience to Optoro. His track record of building high-performance enterprise-class solutions in eCommerce and operational software drives Optoro’s technology department to deliver reliable, customer-focused solutions that can almost think for themselves. Josh runs the technology team with a keen eye for all functional areas, from initial design through world-class delivery and operations. He is passionate about leveraging technology to fully optimize Optoro’s offerings, ensuring speed, usability, and reliability at every stage of the process.
He speaks often in the open-source community and organizes several open-source groups in the DC area. His work with the community allows his team to incorporate the best and brightest ideas from a variety of sources into Optoro’s products, delivering best-in-class solutions for complex problems. When he unplugs, Josh can be found running, cooking, playing music, and spending time with his family; although he often writes open-source software instead of sleeping.
Chief Product Officer, Clarabridge
Nithi Vivatrat is responsible for forging the long-term strategy and direction of Clarabridge’s offerings. Nithi's history with Clarabridge dates back to the company's origin as an R&D initiative within Claraview, a consulting firm specializing in business intelligence and data warehousing. Along with Sid Banerjee, Nithi co-founded and grew Claraview into a thriving services firm with over 130 employees without any outside funding. Claraview was acquired by Teradata, a leading data warehousing and business intelligence company, in March 2008.Prior to joining Clarabridge, Nithi held management roles at technology firms serving the defense and intelligence sectors and served on Clarabridge's board of directors. Before co-founding Claraview, Nithi held roles within technology, business development, and product management. Nithi currently serves on the board of directors of the Project on Government Oversight.Nithi has a B.S. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Thomas H. (Tom, aka Dr. Wo) Woteki, PhD
Chief Technology Officer, MAXIMUS Federal Services
Tom Woteki serves as Chief Technology Officer and Sr. Vice President of MAXIMUS Federal Services. Tom is leads development of the strategy and roadmap for Federal Services’ solutions in support of its customers’ mission critical needs. He is also charged with identifying new and emerging technologies and developing partnerships and alliances with selected companies and organizations.
Tom has over 30 years experience in large-scale systems engineering and integration and software development in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining MAXIMUS Federal Services he gained experience with commercial product development from his time at Cisco, where he started Cisco’s Healthcare Solutions business and led a global consulting practice. During his tenure as CIO and Sr. Vice President at the American Red Cross he gained experience with medical device product development and associated regulatory issues. At other points in his career Tom was a senior executive at Northrop Grumman leading the Defense Travel System, led development of clinical data systems for Merck Research Labs. Tom was the chief architect who led the development of the SEC’s EDGAR system while at BDM International. Tom has held faculty appointments at Princeton University and the University of Texas at San Antonio in statistics and mathematics. Tom earned a PhD in statistics from Va. Tech in 1972 as well as a BS and MS in mathematics from Tech.
Tom is an accomplished gourmet cook, an avid wine collector, enjoys hiking in our National Parks and plays the 5-string banjo and guitar. Tom and his wife Cathie are long-time residents of Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
